Ma Maison Restaurant

Tuesday, 25 November 2008

Ma Maison serves Japanese Western food and has a country style decor. The restaurant is pretty small and is likely to take no more than 50pax at any one point of time. The scallops we ordered were fresh and yummy!
The key to settling the bill.

Went there with Sab as she has a one-for-one set lunch card. We ordered the unagi set which I found the portion to be a little too small.

Okinawan Restaurant

July 2007

Recommended by Tracy, my fellow foodie bud (who happens to be a great cook too!), we tried this truly authentic Okinawan cuisine served by Japanese who can converse in basic English but always trying their best to understand you and serve you. Something interesting there is this baby cum children room which has the typical Japanese sliding door where all the mommies and some daddies gather to play with their children..a very thoughtful and child-friendly place...

We ordered this kimchi pancake or something, pork ribs that melt in your mouth, noodles and rice...oops and this tiger prawn which is small enough for one and big enough for three (if you slice it up into like into 1.5cm each).

Inagiku

Saturday, 30 September 2006

Had a $100 voucher for dining at any restaurants at Raffles The Plaza so decided to try Inagiku since I have read a number of good reviews about the restaurant.

We ordered salmon sashimi ($28 for 5 pcs), king prawn with Inagiku original golden sauce ($60), Australian sirloin steak with broccoli and two bowls of chicken fried rice ($8 each). The bill came up to $181 which is rather pricey considering the number of dishes and the portion.

Sun with Moon Japanese Dining and Cafe

Went there with thea for lunch before our shopping at Isetan. We ordered a set lunch which comes with eel with rice and mushroom pot.

Can't leave this place till I have tried the tofu cheese cake which I have always wanted to try after seeing so many pictures of it! Be sure to make a reservation before you go as the restaurant is always packed during meal times...

Hito

Friday, 1 September 2006

Have always wanted to try this and see how a thin piece of paper can hold the hot boiling soup. Finally had it on Friday with KS. I ordered the mushroom pot! Totally healthy with lotsa mushrooms and veggies.

KS ordered claypot rice with beef. We ordered 2 sides - agedashi tofu and Tori Karrage (fried chicken). The chicken is very tender. Yum!

And yes Gavin, noted your comments on the quality of the photos..they are taken with my VGA camera phone and therefore plenty of "noise" and colours are slightly off..Am going to get my K800i soon! Promise the photos will look way better. =D

Juju Hokkaido Hot Pot

Friday, 7 July 2006

KS and I chanced upon this restaurant when we parked at Paradiz Centre one day after trying in vain to locate a carpark near PS. The restaurant is decorated with simple zen-like furniture with high-backed benches. We waited for approximately 15-20 minutes before getting a seat therefore please remember to make a reservation before you go down especially during the peak hours on weekends. By the time we went in, we were so famished (we were so tempted to order some food from Subway which is just next to the restaurant while waiting). We ordered our food immediately and the ingredients came almost instantly.

Starters included a hard-boiled egg dipped in Japanese sweet sauce. My main course was a seafood platter presented on a 46cm long wooden sailboat. KS ordered the beef slice platter which doesn't look as appealing as mine visually!
